On of those Argentinian contests saw current interim WBC Mundo Hispano champion Gonzalo Omar Basile (63-8, 29) retain his title with a decision victory over the limited Victor Dario Gimenez (22-7-1, 11). The bout was a lopsided victory for Basile who, despite being 40, has already scored 2 wins this year.
On the same Argentinian card there was also a win for former WBC Cruiserweight champion Marcelo Fabian Dominguez (47-7-1, 25) who stopped hard hitting Javier Corrales (11-3-2, 10) in just 2 rounds. This was the first time Corrales had been stopped and seems to suggest he doesn't take a shot as well as he throws one.
