The most notable of the bouts is in Washington as former Cruiserweight title challenger Lateef Kayode (19-0-0-1, 15) takes on the often testing Jonte Willis (9-7-1, 3). This bout, part of the ESPN "Friday Night Fights" show, is Kayode's second bout in successive months after an 18 month break from action, unfortunately however it's unlikely we'll see Kayode tested with his power likely to really be a big difference between the two men.
On the same card in Washington we expect to see the unbeaten Dorsett Barnwell (11-0, 5) take on the experienced and hard hitting Raymond Ochieng (24-17-3, 19). This bout, at least on paper, looks to be the most interesting of the day and should see Barnwell given his first real test of his short career. Saying that though, Ochieng is not a particularly tough test at this point in his career.
Over in Detroit we're expecting to see both Rico Hoye (24-3, 16) and Juan Goode (6-0, 5) in action in Heavyweight bouts. Neither man has an opponent listed as of yet so we'd not expect either man to be fighting anyone testing or of note.
Although none of the bouts are particular exciting it's great to see that action is starting to return to the US after the festive break. Hopefully it won't be long until the US starts to have one or two bouts of note in the division.
