Having already run up 5 victories in just over 11 months Parker takes his first step up as he takes on experienced South African Frans Botha (48-9-3-1, 29).
This bout, a major step up for Parker appears on paper to be a huge test, though some may well call it very cynical match making by Parker's team. With Botha now 44 years old and with just 1 win in his last 7 bouts (in which he has gone 1-5-1) he's certainly not the fighter he once was and he does often appear to be going through the motions.
A loss for Parker isn't out of the question by any means, though it would be quite unexpected with the 21 year old really seen as a future contender.
In Russia Pavel Kalabin (4-10-1) is expected to be in action though his opponent is yet to be named. The 35 year old who has twice lost in bouts for the Russian national title is almost certainly not going to face someone who can test him.
