The most notable bout of the weekend is in Macau as unbeaten fighters collide. In "the feature" Heavyweight bout of the day, rotund Mexican Andy Ruiz Jr (21-0, 14) faces unbeaten American Joe Hanks (19-0, 13). This bout is a step up for both men and is easily one of the most interesting bouts of the year in regards to Heavyweight action.
Not only is there the Ruiz/Hanks bout worth taking note of but in Germany former amateur star Odlanier Solis (19-1, 12) takes on Yakup Saglam (29-2, 26). This bout will be the second defense of Solis' IBF Inter-Continental Heavyweight title and his third contest since suffering an embarassing stoppage defeat at the hands of Vitali Klitschko.
It's fair to say that the two bouts mentioned above are the two biggest though it appears we have around 10 other bouts in the divison spread around the world.
In Russia the unbeaten Apti Davtaev (1-0, 1) looks for his second professional victory as he takes on Semen Pakhomov (0-2). Whilst in the UK the British based Lithuanian Paulius Kasiulevicius (1-0, 1) also looked for his second professional victory as he faces the winless Luke Martin (0-1-1).
In the US state of Iowa we have a host of action with 5 Heavyweight bouts all on the same card. The most notable of those contests was supposed to see Richard Carmack taking on Travis Fulton (19-32-1, 19). Unfortunately Carmack has fallen off the card and instead Fulton will take on Blake Breitsprecher (0-1) in a much less interesting contest.
As well as Carmack v Breitsprecher, the card features Michael Glenn (2-6-2, 1) taking on Eric Cason (1-0, 1); Donovan Dennis (5-0, 4) against the debuting Kelvin Tiller (0-0); the debuting Thomas Jones (0-0) against Dakota Talbott (1-6) and Maron Jackson (0-4-2) against Orlando Reyes (1-0, 1). We admit these aren't greatest contests on paper but there should be enough quantity to make up for the lack of genuine quality.
In New Jersey fans have 2 more low level contests as Patrick Farrell (8-2-1, 4) takes on Phillip Triantafillo (2-3, 1) and the unbeaten Tyrell Wright (2-0, 1) faces Eric George (0-3).
There are 2 more bouts as Curtis Lee Tate (6-4, 6) and Ty Cobb (16-4, 9) take on as yet to be named opponents.
