In the highest profile Heavyweight bout stateside fans got to see Derric Rossy (29-8, 14) out point Joe Hanks (21-2, 14), who suffered his second successive loss. Rossy seemed to control vast parts of the bout with jhis jab though some how once judge had it a draw, thankfully that judge was over-ruled by the other two who give Rossy the rightful victory.
Another show in the stats saw Joey Dawejko (10-3-2, 3) ending the unbeaten run of Mark Rideout (4-1-2, 1) with a clear 8 round victory. We openly admit that we are Dawejko fans, he's one of out favourite "gatekeepers" for prospects and it seems here Rideout failed get through the gate. Of course we know Dawejko is nothing great but he's the sort of guy who will test prospects and if the prospect beats him the prospect is likely to go a long way. One the same card Hector Perez (2-0, 1) stopped Aaron Leonard (1-3-1, 1) in the third round of their bout.
The prospect we were talking about the introduction for today was in action in Germany and was the very promising Swede Adrian Granat (4-0, 4) who continued his impressive rise as he swiftly saw off Andreas Kapp (4-3-1, 3). Kapp was supposed to be the toughest test so far for Granat but it took just 148 seconds for the 6'7" Swede to stop Kapp and record his 4th stoppage in just 7 rounds! We know not many are talking about Granat at the moment but if he keeps scoring these early victories people will sit up and take notice, even if they aren't yet on his bandwagon.
Another fighter who maintained his unbeaten start was Tomasz Duszak (5-0-1, 2) who managed to take a 4 round decision over the limited Jakub Wojcik (1-4-1, 1) who is now with out a in 5 fights following a victory on his debut late last year.
