The fight started well for Parker who showed his impressive hand speed in the opening especially with his jab and straight right hand. Botha managed ot see out the opening round with out too many problems but it was obvious that Botha was going to really struggle with Parker's hand speed.
Surprisingly Botha actually landed the first telling punch of the second right, a glancing over hand right though it was taken very by Parker quickly came back himself with a flurry that caused the crowd to erupt. A follow up allowed Parker to show off his very impressive hand speed.
Soon after the second flurry Parker caught Both with a big over-hand right that wobbled Botha and a follow up attack dropped the south African fighter who was immediately stopped sitting on the ropes and looking like and old beaten man.
Sure Botha was an old man but there was no arguing with this performance by Parker who looked every bit the rising star of New Zealand boxing.
