With Haye against Tyson Fury ruled off (at least for now) there was very little Heavyweight action worth talking about this past Saturday, but here we go.
In Baltimore, Maryland their was a successful day at the office for Dwayne McRae (11-3, 6) who defeated Willie Chisolm (7-18, 4) by decision over 4 rounds and in Decin, Czech Republic, Vaclav Nemecek (2-0, 2) took 105 seconds to stop the deubting Nikola Lukac (0-1).
Whilst we appreciate that Haye's injury was a serious one and we do need to state that we aren't "Hayeters" (yes we've been called that recently) we also need to state that we don't particularly like time wasters. The old phrase about about getting off the pot needs to be used more often in boxing and the same really should be applied no matter who the boxer is.
With Alexander Povetkin having previously pulled out of 2 fights with Wladimir Klitschko and Amir Khan apparently walking away from a Devon Alexander fight this week we are genuinely sick of time wasters in boxing. Please guys, just fight.
