In Argentina the 34 year old Diego Martin Merlo (3-2, 2) managed to record his 3rd straight victory as he over-came the debuting Daniel Peralta (0-1).
It wasn't a good day for debutants in the Heavyweight division with Pat Quinn (0-1) also suffering a debut loss thanks to John Schimon (1-1) via a majority decision. Quinn, aged 33 and standing around 6 foot came in to the ring at a ghastly 363lbs. What Quinn was doing in such bad shape is a genuine mystery.
A little further north in Canada Steven Harvey (4-1, 2) won a clear shut out against Hungarian Andras Csomor (3-2-1, 2). This was the second successive victory for Harvey since suffering the lone reversal on his record.
