Leapai, who is effectively being rewarded for defeating the previously undefeated Denis Boytsov back in November, has now got 30 days to negotiate a deal with champion Wladimir Klitschko (61-3, 51) before the bout will revert to purse bids.
The fight would see Klitschko putting his WBO, WBA "super", IBF and IBO titles on the line in a bout that will be widely regarded as a mismatched mandatory. Unfortunately however the division is so devoid of challengers vying for a fight with Klitschko that it's hard to complain overtly about this bout.
This bout, expected to take place in Q1 of 2014 will be Klitschko's 15th consecutive defense of the IBO and IBF titles, the 11th defense of the WBO belt and the 6th defense of the WBA "Super" title. Going by his scheduled of recent years we'd not be shocked if this is the first of 3 defenses for the Ukrainian champion.
